My development kit is not recognized by the computer (USB-C to USB-C Cable)

Question:

My Boréas development kit does not connect to Haptic Studio. I am using a USB-C to USB-C cable.

 

Answer:

The BOS1921-KIT features a USB-C connector and a USB-C to USB-A cable is provided in the kit. We recommend using the provided cable or using an equivalent USB-C to USB-A cable.

Although it features a USB-C connector, the BOS1921-KIT does not support a direct connection to a USB-C computer port using a USB-C to USB-C cable.

For computer that lack a USB-A port and only features a USB-C port, consider the two following options:

  1. use a USB-C hub that features USB-A ports and use the provided cable or equivalent.

  2. use a USB-A to USB-C adapter to the connect the kit to the computer. Here are some adapter options we tested and are working:

  • SparkFun Electronics PRT-21870

  • Adafruit 5030

  • Benfei B0CJMF38ZW
