Job opening - Layout Designer

We are a fast-growing start-up commercializing integrated circuits for haptic applications. On top of being called Startup Worth watching in the EE Times Silicon 100, our patented technology is capturing the attention of the world's greatest players and has the potential to be used in most of the devices around us, from cell phones to laptop to cars. Our goal is simple at Boréas Technologies: we want to revolutionize the interaction we have with our electronic devices.

We are looking for a Layout Designer to join our growing team. Your primary mission will be to design integrated circuits at the physical level. What is different with our opportunity? Our design team is composed of experienced designers with different specializations (layout, digital, analog & mixed signal, PMIC, etc.). Group members take charge of the entire process, participate in all design phases and build as a team to develop new products. For the layout designer, this includes designing a new design or an existing design to be revised, from assembly to shipment to the foundry.

Therefore, we are offering you a challenge that will appeal to your versatility and your overall understanding of the design of the various schematic blocks. Do you specialize in a particular block or part of the process? The team will take the time to share their knowledge and will encourage you to develop the skills required to be able to take control of the entire process. Knowing that we plan to design 1-2 new integrated circuits per year, you will have the chance to evolve!

Your daily life at Boréas

  • You will produce physical drawings of integrated circuits based on electrical diagrams (PTI - you will work on high voltage analog circuits);
  • You will do the assembly planning in QFN or WLCSP format in collaboration with the production / operations group;
  • You will carry out the final verification of the integrated circuits (DRC, LVS, GDS) and if necessary, you will make the necessary corrections;
  • You will generate and submit manufacturing files (GDS) to the foundry;
  • You will work with several tools, notably Cadence Virtuoso and PVS;
  • Most importantly, you will work closely with the members of your design team.

What we are looking for

  • You have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or the equivalent;
  • You know the Cadence Virtuoso and PVS tools (or equivalent);
  • You have a strong ability to identify and solve complex and spatial problems;
  • You have knowledge of the design stages of an integrated circuit, but also of its manufacturing stages;
  • You are recognized for your ability to work in a team;
